How invoicing works

An invoice is your bill for work done. Here's the path from finished job to money in the bank.

An invoice is the bill you send a client once the work's done. Like a quote, it's linked to a client, it lists what you're charging for, and your client gets their own page where they can see it and pay it online.

Most invoices don't need typing out at all — raise them from the visits you've completed and the client, address and pricing come across with them.

A typical flow

  1. Finish the work and mark the visit as completed.
  2. Raise the invoice from the job or visit — or create one from scratch if it's not tied to a booked job.
  3. Email it to your client.
  4. Your client pays it online, or pays you directly and you record the payment yourself.
