The HiTradies workflow
Whatever the job — a leaking tap or a six-month fit-out — work moves through HiTradies in the same shape: someone asks for it, you price it, you do it, and you get paid for it. You won't always touch every stage for every piece of work (you can book a job straight in without ever raising a quote, for instance), but knowing how the four stages fit together makes it obvious where a piece of work is up to, and what happens to it next.
Requests
A request is how new work first lands in HiTradies without you having to chase it down. A customer fills in one of your booking forms online, and it arrives as a booking request ready for you to review. From there you decide whether it's worth pursuing — and if it is, you turn it into a quote without re-typing the customer's details. See Requests and booking.
Quotes
A quote is the price you put in front of a client before any work starts — the services you're charging for, and how long that price holds. It's always linked to a client, and gives them their own page where they can approve or decline it in one click. The moment a client says yes, the quote is ready to become a job, with all your pricing carried straight across. See Quotes.
Jobs and visits
A job is the work itself, booked into your diary — what you're doing, where, when, and who on your team is doing it. A one-off job has a single visit; a job that repeats, like a fortnightly service, gets a visit scheduled automatically every time you're due back on site. Once someone's actually turned up and finished the work, you mark that visit complete — and that's what makes it ready to bill. See Jobs and visits.
Invoices
An invoice is the bill you send once the work's done. Raise it straight from your completed visits and the client, address and pricing all come across automatically, so there's nothing to type out twice. Your client can pay it online from their own copy, or you can record a payment yourself once they've paid you directly — cash on the day, or a bank transfer. Once an invoice is paid in full, that job's finished, start to end. See Invoices.
None of these four stages are extra admin bolted onto the work — they're the paperwork trail that comes along for free with doing the job the HiTradies way, from a customer's first enquiry right through to the money landing in your account. Once you can picture that shape, the rest of the manual is really just the detail underneath each stage.
