How quotes work

A quote is your price for a job, in writing, before you start. Here's the shape of the whole process.

A quote is the price you send a client before the work starts. In HiTradies a quote is always linked to a client, it lists the services and products you're pricing, and it gives your client their own page where they can approve or decline it in one click.

Once a quote is approved you can turn it straight into a job, so nothing has to be typed twice.

A typical flow

  1. Create a quote for the client — add your services, set how long the price holds for, and save it.
  2. Send it to them by email.
  3. Your client opens their own copy and approves or declines it. If they say yes over the phone instead, you can mark it approved yourself.
  4. Turn the approved quote into a job and get it in the diary — see Jobs.
  5. Once the work's done, raise an invoice from the job.
